Feature story brainstorm

1. Who is your main subject?
My mother
2. Supporting interviews (who else do you need to talk to)?
My grandparents, my brothers, her siblings, ect.
3. What is the topic?
 Most memorable Christmas
4. Which angle from above will you write the story?
A little mix of all. I want some great quotes and also a lot of details.
5. Then to help you get going faster, come up with 20 questions that you can ask your main subject. Type these in your blog.
1. Most memorable Christmas
2. When was it?
3.How old were you?
4. Why was it so great?
5. What kind of gift did you ask for?
6. What gifts did you receive?
7.What gifts did you give?
8. Did you still believe in Santa?
9. Who was there?
10. What was the atmosphere like?
11. Favorite gift?
12.Do you still have the gift?
13.Did you have a special tradition you did?
14. Do you still carry on this tradition?
15. Favorite memory from this Christmas?
16. When did you stop believing in Santa?
17. Favorite part of Christmas?
6. Once you complete that portion, you need to come up with 5-10 questions you need to ask your supporting interviews. Type these into your blog. You may need different questions for each supporting subject.
1. Were you at this Christmas?
2. Was it your favorite too?
3. Did you give her a present?
4. Did she seem very happy?
5. Whats your favorite memory from that
7. You will need to do a little research on the topic you expect to interview your main subject about. Take a little time and do some google searching - find at least 5 new things about the intended topic you should know before you interview your main subject. List those on your blog.
1. Was the christmas actually centered around Christ?
2. Was Christmas better when you believed in Santa?
3. Did you have special Christmas traditions with different people
4. Special dishes?
5.What happend on that Christmas eve
8. Write when you plan to conduct the interview(s)?
Over Christmas break, probably early on
9. Where you will interview them (some interviews are better to do in the persons environment, while others should be done in public places, ALL interviews should be done in person)?
Probably in my house
10. How will you record the information? (taking notes is ideal, and if you want to record the conversation you MUST get permission. You can do both if they will allow you to record, this is a really strong technique that you could use.)
I will record and take notes.
