The Amazing Spiderman 2

This rendering of 'Spider-Man' gets it right

by Mick LaSalle

I would say a nine.

High Points of the movie- The actors seem to do very well at portraying their characters.

Low points of the movie- Though the pyrotechnics were good, they could have been better (you don't need to see in 3D).

"Even apart from the two leads, the acting is notably good, which means that directorMarc Webb deserves praise. Embeth Davidtz probably doesn't have 10 lines in the entire movie, but she lingers in the mind as Peter's mother, as does Campbell Scott as her husband. Sally Field brings the full Sally package to her role as Peter's aunt, playing the character's emotional circumstances with the same intensity that she brought to Mary Lincoln. Jamie Foxx makes an interesting character of Max Dillon/Electro, an electrical whiz whose needy nerdiness turns dangerous when he takes on super powers. It's on Foxx's face, even as he's blasting dozens of police cars with electricity: He just wants to be loved."

Divergent

Divergent

by Christy Lemire

I would say nine again.

High points- The acting and the transition from book to big screen. And from my personal opinion, the fighting scenes were amazing.

Low points- It didn't really say any low points but I would say the ending was kind of abrupt.

"Folks who've read the book will probably be satisfied with the results, while those unfamiliar with the source material may dismiss it as derivative and inferior. (Stop me if you think you've heard this one before: "Divergent" takes place in a rigidly structured, dystopian future where one extraordinary girl will serve either as its destroyer or its savior.) But the performances—namely from stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James and Kate Winslet in a juicy supporting role—always make the movie watchable and often quite engaging."

Provide a summary of one team or athlete’s season performance. The summary should include the following:  1. Wins, losses (5 points) 2. Did the team make playoffs? If there are no playoffs, name the major tournaments that your team or athlete competed in?  3. Who won the top prize or top tournament for your sport last year?  Soccer has many different tournaments and not really anything comparable to the Super ball.  5. List three important rules for your sport. (10 points) - A regulation size soccer ball is a No. 5 ball. Youth leagues may use different size balls, such as a No. 3 ball or a No. 4 ball, depending on the age of the children. -  There must be no more that 11 players on the field of play for either team. A minimum number of players is usually 7. - Players must wear the same colored jersey or shirts. 6. List three examples of jargon for your sport and explain what they mean in words non-sport followers could understand. (10 points) 7. What is an example of sports cliché associated with your sport or athlete? What is another way you could say it without using a cliché?  I don't think soccer really has any cliches associated with it. Although its polar, Its not very compared to Football and Baseball in football. 8. Name an athlete who is a legend for setting records for your sport? Provide a brief biography about the athlete that  • birth place • school attended  • teams played for  • records set
